Here's a view into some of my past projects and what they mean to me!

New Mexico State University: ASNMSU Center for the Arts Promo
This was a very fun promo to shoot, because we filmed at multiple locations for it. First, we filmed parts at the ASNMSU Center for the Arts. Then, we filmed the rest of it at someone's house! It was nice shooting parts for the promo separately, then seeing how the came together for the end product. It's also just a good thing to be getting more experience on film!

Cut Cut Cut Cut Cut
This was my first tiny experience on film, and it was a pretty good one. Feeling how different film and stage acting are was really informational, and both sides definitely have their pros and cons.

Hung!
This project was very fun for me for a number of reasons. One reason is because this was a comedic play, for the most part, and I thrive in comedic environments. Seeing everyone feed off of each other was very beneficial for the writing of this play. Another reason is because I also had to perform a Western accent for my character, and despite accents not being my strong suit, I think I did a tolerable job! I also had a tornado of personal struggles during this time, so I'm proud of myself for doing something requiring so much mental effort from me and giving it my all!

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: Shadow Cast
First, let me define what a "Shadow Cast" is. It's an interactive live performance where actors pantomime a movie in front of a screen as it plays. In this case, the screen was above the stage. It's very different than typical stage acting, because instead of defining your own movements through the space on stage, you're trying your best to mimic someone else's movement. This particular project was very fun for me, because not only do I really enjoy Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, it was also quite different than other projects I've done. Trying to translate blocking from film to stage was definitely challenging, but seeing the end result was definitely very worth it!

As You Like It
This project was very rewarding for me for multiple reasons. Not only was this my first time acting in a Shakespeare play, but I'm also one of those peculiar folks who enjoys analyzing Shakespearian language, so chewing and digesting the script in my head multiple times was definitely fun for me as well. Surprisingly, memorization isn't really a problem for me, so I didn't really struggle with memorizing the Shakespearian language. This is also the biggest cast I've been part of in a show; sixteen people! Despite me being hopelessly neurotic and introverted, this was actually a great thing for me because it reminded me that community is a big part of theater, so seeing how everyone's personalities mixed was very intriguing!

Carmela Full of Wishes
This project has a very special place in my heart because of how bittersweet the play was written. This is a play that, despite its wholesome characters and settings, dives into serious topics such as the effects of breaking up a family against their will. Hearing the pointed silence the moment my character, Papi, was forced to say goodbye to his daughter, Carmela, is a moment that I'll never forget. Unfortunately, this beautiful play was only able to happen on stage once. However, I'm glad that for the one showing that was available, the theater had filled every single seat available in the house!
